A simple illustration of Small Bird's Big Adventure. The story is about a small bird that goes looking for his friend the giant. I decided to illustrate the book to portray the giant living in Giants Castle in the Drakensberg and then all the details are based on a South African context. The bird is native to SA, as are the plants drawn. On most spreads there is a fun fact to teach the child about the the fauna and flora of SA.
